Técnicas de upgrading

genia bioenergy

We bring expertise to all stages of the management and energy valorisation process, providing a comprehensive service in organic waste originating in the following sectors: Industrial waste from the agri-food industry, farm waste, animal by-products not for human consumption (ABPs), municipal solid waste (MSW), etc.

Types of biogas plant

Here at Genia Bioenergy we can help you to create and start up the infrastructure you need to manage a comprehensive organic waste service by means of valorisation.
We propose three types of plant based on project needs for biogas production: self-supply or small biogas, waste to energy and valorisation.

Organic waste management and valorisation

What sets us apart?

Expansion and business vision

We help you expand your business vision by engaging in activities based on the circular economy, the future land-use act, EU law, the Green Deal, etc.

Pre-feasibility analysis with technical and financial viability calculations

We analyse and study the viability of your waste from a technical and financial perspective, always taking your real needs into account.

Categories and treatment

We provide information on different types of waste and how their management can be developed including the most suitable processes and management options in your particular case.

Detailed engineering for biogas plant construction

We have extensive experience in integral development of biogas plants. Our track record enables us to successfully address the works and construction management of the plant.

Selection of the most appropriate technology for each process: pre-treatment, gasification, upgrading

A methane content of over 90% must be achieved to turn biogas into biomethane. Biogas undergoes a “upgrading” or “cleaning” process to reduce its CO2 content and increase the methane (CH4) concentration from 54% to 98%. There are various technologies capable of treating biogas to obtain biomethane, each of which can adapt to different flow rates or project requirements. We help you to select the most suitable technology.

Compliance with regulations

We keep you informed of the latest developments in European regulations and requirements.

Excellent calculation and dimensioning of the facilities

Calculation and dimensioning of the needs for an entire plant facility require taking numerous aspects into account. Our engineering service has experience in the design, implementation and execution of biogas and biomethane plants for major domestic and international clients.

Permitting and compliance

We help you with managing and processing all the documentation required for the project’s  compliance in order to obtain all the permits, licences and other paperwork.

Commissioning and starting up the digesters

A digester is a sealed container (reactor) where organic waste from animal or plant sources is deposited to create the appropriate conditions for the anaerobic digestion process that produces biogas and digestate (organic fertilizers). The origin of the organic waste to be processed and the necessary conditions must be taken into account when determining the type of digester required.

EPC - EPCM Construction

We propose an EPCM-type contract (engineering, procurement and construction management).

Detailed engineering and processing of connection to the gas transport and/or distribution network

We work to provide all kinds of solutions for connection to the biomethane and hydrogen transport and/or distribution networks.

Detailed engineering for the construction of a plant for upgrading biogas to biomethane

Biomethane has the same advantages and properties as natural gas compared to other fossil fuels. However, its outstanding property is that is a much more sustainable product and helps to decarbonise the gas sector, thus contributing to the fight against climate change. Biomethane is perfectly compatible with the current natural gas facilities and does not require adaptation at the consumption point or new installations for transport and use.

Operation and maintenance

We provide comprehensive management and operation of the biogas and/or biomethane plant.

Slurry management in biogas plants

In view of the currently applicable regulations and in anticipation of stricter legislation resulting from the transposition of EU law, the production of biogas from waste generated by livestock farming (pigs, cattle, sheep, goats, poultry, etc) provides a sustainable solution to treatment and management of liquid manure.

Slurry, regardless of its origin (swine, cattle, sheep, goats or poultry), contains organic matter that the law prohibits from being discharged directly into watercourses or applied on fields.
